
Espresso Chip Gelato
At our Flagship Store, we brag that we brew the slowest coffee in town. Custom-brewed for each customer, there are no compromises. But people tell us it is worth the wait – one gentleman once told us that he would wait in line for a half hour just to get his hands on a cup. We bring the same philosophy to Espresso Chip Gelato – our version of coffee, but on overdrive.
If you ever hear our espresso machine working at full volume in our Flagship Store, you’ll know that a batch of Espresso Chip Gelato is about to be born. We brew Bard Roast espresso shot-by-shot in our store and carry it to the kitchen (without spilling!). And then the love happens. Created in a similar process as Stracciatella, we blend espresso into the base. We then melt Ghirardelli chocolate, layer it throughout, and hand-chop the lines of chocolate. We swirl and distribute the resulting chips to maximize mocha-in-the-mouth fusions.
While a cup of hot espresso may be a staple in your morning or evening routine, a pint of Espresso Chip Gelato can provide a cold treat at any time, day or night. For extra complexity, pour espresso over your scoops to create an affogato.
