When not studying the laws of gastronome, he’s riding his bike and making folks smile.
Tell us a little about yourself.
I’m 21 years old. I studied culinary arts, specifically classic French cuisine in New Hampshire. Among other things, I learned how to carve fruit and ice. I came back to Brunswick and managed the kitchen for 111 Maine Catering. I rebuild motorcycles, and I like pottery. Oh, yea, and long walks on the beach.
What’s your favorite gelato flavor?
I prefer the savory to the sweet. And I like the weird ones. So the Chocolate Chipotle Gelato or the Thanksgiving stuffing flavors would be among my favorites.
And what do you drink to go along with your favorite gelato?
Coffee. Black. Shaken not stirred.
What’s your favorite vegetable?
That’s unfair, to ask these questions to someone who studied food… I guess I’d have to say squash. Any varietal. Summer, spaghetti, any.
If you were a superhero, which would you be?
The Sub-Mariner. He’s Marvel’s version of Aquaman. I like the idea of being able to go underwater. There’s so much in the deep sea that we have yet to explore.
What is your gelato fantasy?
I want everyone to know what gelato is. It deserves, as a product, a world-wide recognition. I want it on every dessert menu, in every freezer.
