He drives the line and brings self-proclaimed country boy swag as our resident delivery dude.
Tell us about yourself.
I was born and raised in Brunswick. I’ve traveled through 44 states and 14 countries. I like country music, snowboarding, cars, and extreme sports.
I was deployed to Afghanistan for 12 months with the infantry as an M249 SAW gunner. I’m in the Guard now as a reservist and am going to school at the University of Maine at Orono for a few years before the next scheduled deployment in 2014. I’m studying abnormal psychology at school with the goal of going back into the military to help soldiers with post-traumatic stress disorder.
During my deployment, I also spent some solid time behind the wheel — driving trucks usually once a week. Now I drive trucks for The Gelato Fiasco and deliver gelato throughout New England.
What’s your favorite flavor?
It changes weekly. My favorites are Caramel Amoretto Gelato, Caramel Cookie Cheesecake Gelato, and Banana Bacio Gelato. Anything with caramel, chocolate bananas, or cheesecake. I don’t like mediocrity – I like to expand and be exuberant. I like all the diversity that can go into a particular flavor. We put character into these flavors.
And your top drink?
I make my own sort of special drink: a Caramel Latte with vanilla syrup, extra caramel, and a quadruple shot of espresso. I drink a couple of them a day. Keeps me fueled.
If you were a superhero, who would you be?
The Hulk. I’m a really friendly guy, but not when I’m angry.
What’s your Gelato Fiasco fantasy?
I’d like to see us go nationwide and global. Give Italy a run for its money.
