Update on October 29, 2014 Incident

The Gelato Fiasco Flagship Store is open following a vehicle accident at our Maine Street building.

At 12:59 p.m., a vehicle drove over the curb and collided with our building. It appears the driver was pulling into a Maine Street parking space and then accidentally suddenly accelerated. The vehicle hit the wall that we share with Little Tokyo.

No one in the building or on the sidewalk was injured. Peter was working at the cash register, Brett was in the kitchen, and customers were seated in the back of the store. The driver was taken by ambulance to a hospital, but first responders could not share any details with us about the driver’s condition.

The collision shattered one of the windows at Gelato Fiasco and broke a storefront panel at Little Tokyo. There is modest damage to the corner of the wall and countertop, but the building did not sustain structural damage.

We’re open for business for regular hours (11 a.m. to 11 p.m.). Our thoughts and prayers are with the driver, and our company and staff are thankful for the fast response and expertise of Brunswick town personnel, including the Fire Department, Police Department, and building inspector.
