Pakistan Flood Relief: Music Fundraiser
Wednesday, October 13, 8 to 10 p.m.
The Gelato Fiasco Flagship Store

Student groups from Bowdoin College have asked us to co-sponsor a fundraiser to provide relief to the terrible flooding that hit Pakistan this past summer. At their peak, the flood covered one-fifth of the country, and officials estimate that 70 percent of Pakistan’s population currently does not have access to adequate nutrition.

Four of Bowdoin’s six a capella groups will perform, and other student volunteers will help scoop gelato. The Gelato Fiasco will donate 10 percent of the night’s sales to relief efforts.  Customers will also have the option of providing additional contributions.

Bowdoin student groups sponsoring the event include Bowdoin Pakistan Relief Week Committee, Bowdoin Christian Fellowship, Muslim Students Association, Catholic Students Union, and Hillel. Funds raised will be donated by the Relief Week Committee to the Association of Pakistani Physicians of New England, a local organization that is working on the ground in Pakistan to provide relief.

8:30: The Meddies
8:45: Jamie Cohen and friends
