The Gelato Fiasco Donates $2,078 to Teen Center

For the third consecutive year, nearly 800 local residents and college students came to The Gelato Fiasco on March 31 to support the Brunswick Teen Center. At the conclusion of the event, we donated $2,078 in sales to the Brunswick Teen Center. Along with tips donated by our staff, additional donations from attendees, and raffle proceeds, the Teen Center collected a total of $2,515 from the event. That exceeds last year’s total of $2,024.

We donated all March 31 sales beyond the seasonal daily average for a Thursday in April. That meant that customers were able to contribute simply by purchasing a dish of gelato or cup of coffee at regular prices — no additional donation was necessary.

Dozens of volunteers from town government, local schools, and Bowdoin College served as celebrity scoopers, and several musicians performed during the afternoon and evening hours.

This event shows that when many people join together, we can collectively have a huge impact and demonstrate the strength of our community.

Thanks to everyone who bought a dish of gelato, drank a cup of coffee, or volunteered.
