Record-Breaking Results at Teen Center Scoop-a-Thon

More than 900 local residents and college students came together at The Gelato Fiasco to support the Brunswick Teen Center at our annual Scoop-a-Thon fundraising event. We donated $2,688 in sales from Thursday’s event, and combined with additional donations, donated staff tips, and raffle proceeds, the Scoop-a-Thon raised $3,367 for the Brunswick Teen Center.

Those results are greater than any previous year, and The Gelato Fiasco’s contribution is about $600 more than 2011’s event. On average, one dish or pint was served every 46 seconds for the entire twelve-hour event.

Fifty celebrity scoopers from Brunswick community organizations, town government, schools, and Bowdoin College athletic teams served gelato, and nearly 50 performers provided entertainment throughout the day and night.

We donated all April 5 sales beyond the seasonal daily average for a Thursday in April. Customers were able to participate by simply purchasing a dish of gelato or cup of coffee at regular prices.

Thank you to everyone who bought gelato, scooped, or performed!
