Southwest Airlines Now Flying to Portland Jetport

Attention, gelato fans from Washington, D.C., Maryland, and northern Virginia! Southwest Airlines arrives in Portland, ME, this week for direct flights from Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI) to the Portland International Jetport (PWM). Daily departures mean that you can grab a Maine treat and be back to the Beltway after a 90-minute flight.

Southwest flights leave Baltimore for Portland three times daily on weekdays and twice daily on weekends. Once you arrive at the just-renovated Portland International Jetport, you can take a flat-rate taxi or METRO bus #5 to reach The Gelato Fiasco Old Port.

Discover made-in-Maine flavors like Sweet Resurgam Gelato, Maine Wild Blueberry Crisp Gelato, and Strawberry Rhubarb Sorbetto. The Gelato Fiasco Old Port also features single-origin coffees roasted right in Portland by Tandem Coffee Roasters.

While in town, enjoy a cruise on Casco Bay Lines or a show at the State Theatre (no Justin Bieber here, but you’ll see that the State can throw a concert with the best of the biggest cities).

The flight takes over the route previously owned by AirTran Airways. Several other airlines also serve the Portland International Jetport. Schedules include several rapid flights daily from New York on JetBlue Airways.
