David Barber elected to Gelato Fiasco board of directors

BRUNSWICK, Maine – Gelato Fiasco has announced that David Barber has joined the company’s board of directors. Barber was the president of Barber Foods of Portland prior to its sale to AdvancePierre in Cincinnati, OH.

“Barber Foods has been making and marketing high-quality products in Maine for more than 60 years,” said Joshua Davis, co-founder of Gelato Fiasco. “Dave has a wealth of experience positioning his products for sale in grocery stores across the country, and we’re grateful that he has offered to bring his knowledge to our team.”

In recent years, Gelato Fiasco has expanded its grocery store pint business and now sells its gelato in specialty and grocery stores in 45 states.

The company is based at its Flavor Foundry in Brunswick, where it produces its pints with milk from Aroostook County, natural cane sugar, and premium fruits, nuts, chocolates, coffees, and confections. It also operates year-round scoop shop stores in downtown Brunswick and Portland’s Old Port, and offers home shipping services at gelatofiasco.com.

Gelato Fiasco’s partners include Coastal Enterprises, Inc. and the Maine Venture Fund. Other board members are chairman Richard McGoldrick, Gena Canning, Nathaniel Henshaw, John Moore, co-founder Bruno Tropeano, and Davis.
